Sonic Frontiers 2: Rumors and Wishlist

What's up, Internet? Welcome back to Sega Break. This is Linser22.

**Rumors on Sonic Frontiers Sequel:**
Well, the rumors are starting to come in that development has already started on the sequel to Sonic Frontiers. Honestly, I'm not surprised. In fact, I'm pretty sure they started development right after they finished Sonic Frontiers One. It was probably developed concurrently with the DLC, which likely had a smaller team working on it. I don't have any concrete information; this is just what I think.

**Reflections on Sonic Frontiers One:**
Looking back at Sonic Frontiers One, I personally really liked the game. I was hooked and couldn't stop playing. However, one aspect that I, and many others, didn't appreciate was the limited number of areas—only three. I hope they have more time to expand on this in the sequel since they won't be building the game from scratch.

**Gameplay and Engine Improvements:**
I didn't like that the third area has too many 2D sections. There was also a lot of Pop-in. This can only be fixed from the very beginning by working on the engine. Maybe they'll work on another engine, as the rumors have been suggesting. But I don't think Frontiers will be that game. I think it will be a side game.

**Gameplay Wishes for Sonic Frontiers Two:**
In terms of gameplay, I'd like to see them experiment a bit more, try some new things. I wouldn't be surprised if they decide not to include the cyberspace this time around. Many people seemed to skip those sections, finding them lackluster compared to actual boost games. Sonic didn't control right, possibly due to compensations made for the open world. That being said, I actually prefer the button layout of Frontiers over other boost games. The trigger for boosting, A for the double jump, and "the left face button" for the homing attack all felt intuitive.

**Combat System:**
I did enjoy the fighting mechanics and would like them to expand on this, while still keeping it optional. My favorite combat element was trapping enemies in a tornado and then using a combination of punches and kicks to defeat them.
**Desired Features in Open Zones:**
I'd like to see more unique open zones with active elements, like an Eggman land with lots of gears and smaller spaces to explore hidden areas. A city design would complement Sonic's abilities, with sloped buildings and curves for running, akin to a Tony Hawk level.

**Villains and Storyline:**
As for the villain, I'd like to see someone other than Eggman, or at least a different dynamic where Sonic doesn't have to team up with Eggman to take down a greater threat. It would be interesting to see a villain that contrasts with Sonic in a completely different manner. Knuckles was a perfect example because he represented brawn to Sonic's speed. It would be refreshing to have a main villain that isn't always the fallback option.

**Closing Thoughts:**
What do you guys think? What would you like to see from Sonic Frontiers Two, if that's even what it will be called? Let me know down below, and I'll try to come back and make some more videos because I have a lot to say about what's going on with Sega. Anyway, see you guys next time.
