Back Seat Leaders

Leadership, easier said than done. Being a leader takes initiative. Yet there is constant clatter nearby anyone with the gal to pursue such hardships. This clatter contains but is not limited to; "I can do better with much greater ambitions, but I don't want to take on the role because I have better shit to do" or "The current leader is failing very badly because they decided on A and B. They should have chosen C, I would've been a better leader because I would have chosen C. It's 100% obvious."

The first quote is a quote I've heard while working many different jobs over the span of 5 years. Why must these delusions sprout fruitfully when all evidence points towards denial. If you don't have the willpower to take on a task then you don't and never will have the ambitions to see this so called greatness become a reality. Instead of putting your so called "greatness" into effect you do the exact opposite. Blindly mouthing off can negatively affect others in your league to discredit the one leading the group. Then in effect the leader will probably lose self confidence causing the group to loose a leader.

Great you say? Glad they're gone you say?

Why must I be surrounded by delirious, arrogant, and ignorant fools!?

Good luck finding a leader. Since it's clear you have no interest in showing "ambition" to lead yourself, your group then becomes no different than an army of ants scattered by a sudden impact. Long story short, unless you truly believe you deserve and would endure the responsibility, stfu.

Decisions. Some important, some reflective, others self defining. The number one function of any leader no matter the destination, obligations, or industry, is the function of decisions. Someone who is running a good ship has a crew who can reliable ask away any question relating to the ship. The responses don't have to be great they just have to be consistent, relevant, and of course confident. If a captain stares at a map for 3 days just to decide between turning left then circling or right then circling, then the ship will end up having problems with the team and countless other variables. Anyone leading anything from managing a warehouse to running a corporate business will make undesirable decisions with sometimes very little foresight. While yes they should be critiqued, because of the responsibility they have in place. Simply submitting the idea their establishment should become void because they chose A instead of C is a bit over the top. If you lack this empathy then maybe the expressed words are little disingenuous. So once again, stfu.

With all this being specified leaders being critiqued is very important in smoothing the process. Keeping tabs is necessary in making sure a group is not suffering a slow yet silent death. Every job or task need an evaluation. Just don't let the evaluation be the quick trigger.
